Terms of Use
Last updated October 25, 2026
1. Agreement
American Sentiment (americansentiment.com) is operated by Prophecy Gov (“Prophecy”). These terms cover every page of americansentiment.com and every file it serves, including its data files, transcripts, quotes, video clips and charts (together, the “Site”). By visiting or using the Site by any means, including through software that reads it for you, you agree to these terms. If you do not agree, do not use the Site.
2. What you may do
You may read the Site, link to it, share its pages, and quote short excerpts with credit to American Sentiment and a link to the page. Residents, journalists, researchers, students, community groups and government staff are welcome to use it this way, including through general AI assistants such as ChatGPT, Claude, Gemini or Grok.
3. Competitors may not use the Site
A “Competitor” is any company, other than Prophecy and SpaceX (Space Exploration Technologies Corp. and its subsidiaries, including xAI), that earned more than half of its revenue in its most recent fiscal year from governments in the United States, at any level (federal, state, tribal, county, city, town or special district), whether directly or through resellers and contractors. Anyone who works for or acts on behalf of a Competitor, including its employees, contractors and agents, is covered by this section.
A Competitor may not visit, read, copy, download or otherwise use the Site or anything on it, for any purpose, without Prophecy’s written permission.
No one may use an AI assistant, chatbot, agent, crawler or other automated tool that a Competitor offers or operates to visit, read, search, summarize or analyze the Site.
No one may use the Site or its data to build, train, fine-tune, ground, test, benchmark or improve a Competitor’s product, or give the Site’s data to a Competitor.
A Competitor is responsible for any breach of these terms by its employees, contractors and agents, as if it had committed the breach itself.
4. Data collection
You may not scrape or bulk-download the Site’s data files for any use barred above, or get around any measure Prophecy uses to limit access to the Site.
5. Ownership
Prophecy’s work on the Site is protected by copyright and other laws. That work includes the transcripts and their timings, the selection and classification of comments, the analysis, charts, text, design and code, and the selection and arrangement of the record as a whole. The underlying meeting recordings and public records were published by the governments that hold them, and each speaker’s words are their own.
You may not remove, hide, alter or get around any credit, copyright notice, or marker or other measure Prophecy uses to identify or protect the Site’s content, in any copy of that content.
6. What the Site shows
The Site reports what people said at public government meetings. Prophecy does not vouch for the truth of any speaker’s statements. The Site is provided as is and as available, without warranties of any kind, to the extent the law allows.
7. Breaking these terms
Use that breaks these terms is not authorized. Prophecy may block or end access to the Site for anyone who breaks them and may enforce them through any remedy the law allows.
Anyone who breaks these terms must, when Prophecy asks, delete every copy of the Site’s content and data under their control within 10 days and confirm in writing that they have done so.
A breach of these terms causes Prophecy harm that money damages cannot fully remedy, so Prophecy may ask a court to order the breach stopped, in addition to any other remedy. Anyone who breaks these terms must pay the costs, including lawyers’ fees, that Prophecy incurs to enforce them.
Anyone who breaks these terms, and any of their affiliates, may not enforce against Prophecy any terms of use, terms of service or similar website terms of their own, and agrees not to sue Prophecy to enforce them.
8. Changes and contact
Prophecy may update these terms by posting a new version on this page with a new date. To ask for permission or to report misuse, email as@prophecygov.com.
